Moncler

We can thank the Italian brand of Moncler for down outerwear. Moncler originally made tents and sleeping bags – it was only in 1952 that it started to develop down jackets. At that time, the jackets were worn by factory workers in the coldest months of the year, and the jackets looked more like blue boxes than outerwear.
Moncler has repeatedly sponsored both expeditions and mountain climbing. During the Winter Olympics in 1968, the French alpine ski team was sponsored by Moncler, which changed its logo from Mount Eguit to the rooster for which the brand is known today. Moncler still specialises in down outerwear whose unique lightness is world famous.
